Western A-Fib Symposium (WAF) in partnership with Medtronic are pleased to open invitations to researchers, residents, and fellows-in-training in the field of electrophysiology to submit abstracts for the 15th edition of Western A-Fib Symposium 2022. WAF is seeking abstracts addressing innovative research in the following categories:

Qualifying abstracts will be selected for poster presentation during February’s WAF Symposium.

First and second-year clinical EP fellows, Clinical EP research fellows, and 3rd year Cardiology fellows going into EP can also nominate their abstracts for the Scientific Scholarship Award sponsored by Medtronic. Five abstracts will be selected for oral presentation at Western AF by a non-biased panel of experts in cardiac electrophysiology. The main author of each abstract will receive a travel scholarship of $1,000 to attend and present their research during a WAF session (In the event an awardee is unable to be in Park City for this event, a virtual option will be made available).
The top three posters will also receive Scholarship Awards to support current and future scientific research initiatives.

  • First place – $6,500
  • Second place- $3,000
  • Third place- $1,000

It is required that all submissions be new and not previously published or presented at a national or international meeting. Submissions associated with a published manuscript are welcome if the manuscript is published after the time the abstract is submitted to WAF. By submitting an entry, you and all co-authors automatically consent to any form of live or virtual publication of your work. All submitters are encouraged to review the submission guidelines prior to submitting their abstract. Because Medtronic is the sole financial sponsor of these scholarships, submissions related to off-label topics cannot be considered. Additionally, if a poster includes any Medtronic products, it must only include FDA approved use of that product.
